Baroka head coach Thoka Matsimela blamed a mystifying loss of focus among his players for their DStv Premiership 2-1 defeat at the expense of Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Bakgaga currently lie 10th on the log standings with 33 points after 29 games, three points behind 8th placed TS Galaxy.
The loss means that the chances for the Limpopo-based outfit to qualify for the top-eight spot succumbed to a premature ending given the fact that Galaxy and Kaizer Chiefs are now the favourites to occupy that top-eight finish as far as the log standings is concerned.
Reflecting on yesterday’s game against the Sea Robbers, Thoka lamented lack of concentration as something that hindered his side’s performance.
“It was a tough match, we were not expecting us to lose this game but we take it as it is and we move on,” Thoka told the media.
“But we need to face it, I think those two goals came in due to lack of concentration. We scored, instead of concentrating we allowed them to equalize and they went on to score another goal.”
Baroka play their next game against Swallows FC on Saturday, 5 June at Dobsonville Stadium with the kick-off set for 15:00 in the afternoon.
“We need to finish the season with good results. We must go play against Swallows with a good spirit so that we get all the three points and finish the league with a win. We cannot afford to lose two games in a row,” he says in conclusion.
