Matsimela Thoka says Baroka FC will do everything in their power to get all the three points in the Limpopo DStv Premiership derby against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) this afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium (15:00).
This Limpopo derby bodes to be different than the last one as TTM are fighting to survive the chop, while Bakgaga want to see themselves in the top eight. This game has the potential to be special.
Each team comes into this encounter having secured much-needed victories in their previous league matches.
“Up to so far coming back from a game against AmaZulu, we prepared ourselves very well. The mood of the boys is still okay and I’m happy with the way they are responding,” Thoka told FARPost.
“We are looking forward to the game. It’s a very big match for us – a derby which everybody will be watching from the heart of their comfort homes.
“It will be a big achievement for the team to qualify for the top eight and that is why we are pushing this hard to make it happen as we will have a chance to play in the MTN8 competition.”
Baroka currently sit 9th on the log standings with 32 points after 27 games, whereas the reigning Nedbank Cup champions are placed 13th on the table with 28 points from 27 outings.
On paper, this game is set to go in one direction given the fact that Baroka will need a perfect game to beat the highly confident TTM.
With all being said, this mouthwatering showpiece will be more than a battle for bragging rights with both sides hoping for maximum points.
The game will start at 15:00.
