Baroka assistant coach Matsemela Thoka has raised his hand for the head coach position to replace Wedson Nyirenda.
Nyirenda resigned from the 2018 Telkom Knockout Champions citing an unprofessional working environment as the reason.
Thoka has since been tasked with taking charge of the training sessions until the club appoint a new coach.
“I can’t say yes or no but if that is the decision by the management to appoint me, I can take it because even myself I want to learn,” Thoka told FARPost.co.za
“I learnt a lot from that guy (Nyirenda) and there is no way I can run away from the responsibility, but it is the decision by the management if maybe they want to give me a chance”
“The decision must come from the management and not from me and I can’t decide for them who they must bring or who they must not bring. That is why I am saying I will wait for any decision that comes from them,” e said.
Thoka who is the longest-serving member of the team is likely to remain in his assistant position with intensifying rumors that the club is set to appoint former Black Leopards coach Dylan Kerr in the next few days.
