Ethiopia visit South Africa in Johannesburg this evening after losing 3-1 in the reverse fixture last Saturday.
The Walias created a lot of chances against Bafana Bafana last weekend, but Ronwen Williams stood tall in between the posts for Hugo Broos’ side.
Here are three players who can give the home side problems up front.
The attacker is the golden boy of Ethiopian football after scoring 29 league goals in 23 appearances for local club Coffee SC last season.
Nasir could have registered his name on the scoresheet last Saturday, but Williams managed to deny him from close range.
He is already at the centre of transfer speculation with a few clubs across the continent linked with his signature in recent months. He is often deployed on the right side of the attack, but can play anywhere in the front line.
The captain of the side, Kebede is one of the most experienced players in the team.
Coincidentally, the forward has scored twice against Bafana Bafana at international level. He scored as the Walias defeated the Cosafa nation 2-1 in Addis Ababa back in 2012 and he scored a beautiful free-kick last weekend, but it wasn’t enough to help the East Africans avoid a 3-1 defeat to Bafana.
In 58 appearances for Ethiopia, the 29-year-old has scored 31 goals since making his debut in 2010.
The star midfielder in the team, Dagnacghew is one of a few players who have been recently added to the national team.
Dagnachew won the Ethiopian Player of the Year award in the 2018/19 season which earned him a permanent spot in the national team.
He has made 11 senior team appearances for the Walias and scored two goals in the process.
Last week, he played 90 minutes dictating terms in midfield, but the forwards failed to convert clear-cut chances against the 1996 champions.
