Bafana Bafana have been forced to call up three new players into the senior national team Cosafa squad amid Covid-19 chaos.
The tournament is currently underway in the Nelson Mandela Bay and it’s expected to come to an end on 18 July.
The players that have been called up are Vusi Sibiya (Baroka FC), Lebohang Maboe (Mamelodi Sundowns) and Victor Letsoalo (Bloemfontein Celtic).
Bafana have won their first two group stages encounters – defeating Botswana and Eswatini with a 1-0 scoreline.
In addition, the national team has brought in Amajimbos mentor Vela Khumalo as the assistant coach to Morena Ramoreboli, and goalkeeper coach Thembalethu Moses.
This comes after coach Helman Mkhalele and goalkeeper coach Lucky Shiburi were isolated as a precautionary measure after Covid-19 screening tests prior to the commencement of the competition.
The side will face Lesotho on Tuesday, July 13 and lock horns with Zambia in their last group stage match the following day.
