Maritzburg United head coach Eric Tinkler has bemoaned the lack of depth in his squad and he’s targeting a couple of signings in the January transfer window to add to his arsenal.
Tinkler feels he has the lightest squad in top flight division and he’s looking to take full advantage once the transfer market re-opens in January.
“There is one or two areas we need to strengthen, I know Gavin [Hunt] has been speaking about having one of the smallest teams in the league but I don’t know about that, I think we probably are” he said
“I think right now I am down to the squad of 22 players in training, so there’s just enough to play 11 v 11 you know, so I think there’s certain areas we’ve identified that we need to look to strengthen, so yes we will be looking in the market in the January period” declared the former Bafana Bafana midfielder .
The Team of Choice have 6 tough fixtures in January and 4 of those are against teams who are involved in a relegation dog fight at the bottom.
