Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler reckons that Terrence Mashego can achieve whatever he desires as long as he continues to work hard at training.
This comes after a few eyebrows were raised when the 23-year-old defender was omitted from the Bafana Bafana squad set to face Zimbabwe and Ghana in the Fifa World Cup qualifiers next month.
The left-back has proved his worth with some fine performances and important goals ever since joining ‘The Citizens’ back in October 2020 from TS Galaxy.
Tinkler has backed Mashego to continue improving as his lucky day is coming to be part of South Africa’s men’s national football team.
The 51-year-old mentor also admitted that he’s really happy with how Mashego is progressing.
“It’s all about his willingness to work very hard at training,” said Tinkler.
“He’s always above everybody else in terms of the amount of sprints, intensity etc.
“I’m pretty sure Terrence will be getting in that Bafana squad someday soon.”
The former Mthatha Bucks player has made himself a regular starter at the Cape Town-based outfit and shows plenty of potential to grow, and has earned the trust of his mentor.
