A top Eswatini football administrator has been admitted at the Lubombo referral hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.
The official, who is a chairman of a Premier League club whose name has been deliberately withheld due to ethical reasons recently tested positive for coronavirus following several international trips.
He was admitted at the referral hospital early this week. A source close to the matter revealed that the official was currently recuperating at the hospital.
“He is responding well to treatment. He decided to test after developing symptoms and indeed he tested positive,” the source told Swazi Observer.
The said officials had travelled between the country, South Africa and Mozambique in the past 10 days before testing positive.
“He has been in and out of the country. He might have contracted the virus while travelling. The good thing is that he was quick to test after developing the symptoms,” said the source.
Meanwhile, the news of the administrator comes few days after several confirmed cases within three top Premier League clubs after their players tested positive.
