The biblical reference to God is forever associated with someone with abundance of unnatural powers to perform miracles.
Clatous Chota Chama, commonly labelled ‘CCC’ by the African talent followers is such, the Simba FC midfield God.
FARPost Intellegence Unit, takes a leap of faith and unravel this exciting Zambian maestro now playing for the Tanzanian giants, Simba.
1. Who is ‘CCC’?
The diminutive football midfield God was born on the 19th June 1991 in Mufulira, Zambia.
After an early stint with the powerhouse Nchanga Rangers, he joined the Ndola-based Zesco United in December, 2013. In 2017, he had a short spell at both El Ettihad (Egypt) and Lusaka Dynamos, before heading to Simba FC.
2. ‘CCC’ Player Profile
The Zambian is difficult to describe because he is multifunctional and deceptive in his technical outlook. As a potent finisher he has the ability to finish inside the penalty area and outside the penalty box.
He can operate on the right, left and advanced midfield position, either in an attacking 1-4-3-3 or 1-4-4-2 systems. Over the years, ‘CCC’ has found it easy to play in the midfield intermediate, advanced and central areas with a perfect distinction.
3. Creative goalscorer
As a roaming midfield dynamo, ‘CCC’ boasts a remarkable creativity and intelligence. His record of 21 matches in CAF Champions League over the years with Zesco and Simba has accounted for 3 strikes and 5 assists.
His creative juices has followed him to the ‘Chipolopolo’ where in 15 outings he has delivered 3 goals and 4 assists.
4. Tanzanian League ‘MVP’
‘CCC’ has delivered 2 consecutive league titles for Simba FC. However, it’s his deft heel goal he scored in the 2019/2020 season that will be remembered.
In a pulsating tie against fellow Zambian opponents Nkana FC, ‘CCC’ cemented his position to the darlings of Simba by eliminating the visitors. He encroached the penalty area like a hawk ready to pounce on an unsuspecting chicklets, and unleashed a sporadic venom backhill that rendered the Nkana goalkeeper helpless on the goal line.
His overall performance in clinching the league and cup double for Simba, coupled with the elimination of the more fancied Vita Club of Kinshasa (AS Vita), capitulated him to the highest echelons of Tanzanian football and was duly named the league and club ‘MVP’(Most Valuable Player) for 2019/2020.
5. What’s next for ‘CCC’
At the ripe and matured age of 29, ‘CCC’ deserves better challenges. First, he had to get himself back into the Zambian star-studded midfield led superbly by Enoch ‘The Computer’ Mwepu.
Secondly, a move to bigger clubs in Egypt and South Africa must be on the horizon for this midfield God, who has the ability to be a creator, ruler of the African playground and a possible source of all moral authority on the field.
