GladAfrica Championship side TS Galaxy and MTN South Africa have joined forces to do their bit during the coronavirus pandemic.
Galaxy in partnership with MTN SA handed out 100 Food parcels to different households and different communities in and around Kwa- Ndebele.
“One of the core founding principles of TS Galaxy FC is to be a club for the people and that requires us to take action in such troubling and difficult times,” said ‘The Rockets’ President Tim Sukazi.
“Since the covid-19 outbreak and the subsequent national lockdown, we have realized the hardships that is being experienced by our people. So, in partnering with MTN in the good work that they are already doing, the Club is able to lend a helping hand at an even bigger scale for the betterment of the lives of our people,” added Sukazi.
In a statement, the Kwa-Ndebele based outfit said that several families benefitted from the generous efforts of the club’s initiative with MTN. The community received food parcels consisting of mealie meal, vegetables, non-perishable products as well as face masks and hand sanitizers that will go a long way in alleviating hunger and exposure to the covid-19 pandemic.
“With football activities gradually making a return, TS Galaxy Football Club has been active off the pitch with its community outreach programmes amongst other things.
“For MTN SA, partnering with the Rockets in such an initiative forms part of their yearly community social responsibility initiative titled MTN 21 Days of Yellow Care where they go into various communities to provide assistance where it’s needed.”
