Two Mpumalanga based GladAfrica Championship teams’ TS Sporting and Mbombela United are engaged in a boardroom fight over the registration of Eswatini international striker Sabelo Ndzinisa.
According to FARPost sources close to the matter, Sporting are claiming that Ndzinisa signed with them first from Mbabane Swallows at the start of the season before joining Mbombela.
The case is currently at the PSL DC waiting to be finalised.
“The case is at the PSL and by now it could have been finalised already, but the player asked for someone who could translate for him as he told the DC that he doesn’t understand English very well, “said the source.
“But before the season comes to an end, the case will be finalised. Mbombela have even stopped using the player in their recent games because they are afraid other teams may log protests as well,” the source said.
When reached for a comment, Mbombela chairman Oupa Matsebula confirmed to FARPost that there is a fight between his club and Sporting and also added that there is nothing to fear or worry as the player is rightfully theirs.
“Yes, TS Sporting protested against Ndzinisa but I am not worried because he is our player. I signed him last year during the COSAFA tournament in Durban. Maybe he trained with them before that, but he didn’t sign anything with them.
“As for him asking for a translator that’s true and that’s what we are waiting for from the League [PSL] because its them who have to provide a translator if someone appealing before the DC says he can’t understand English.
“But to tell you the truth, he is our player and there is nothing to worry about, “concluded Matsebula.
TS Sporting chairman Slungu Thobela could not be reached for comment.
