Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila owner Masala Mulaudzi has finally succumbed to the club’s supporters demand that he hires a new and experienced coach, or the team will play at an empty Thohoyandou Stadium.
TTM supporters staged a protest outside the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday following the 0-2 defeat to Free State Stars in the GladAfrica Championship encounter under then interim in-experienced coach Lucky Nelukau.
Mulaudzi on Thursday announced that well-travelled coach Vladislav Heric has now been tasked with ensuring that the team gain promotion to the Absa Premiership at the end of the season.
Speaking on the Zwamitambo Sports show on SABC Radio Phalaphala FM on Thursday night, Mulaudzi says they had to meet certain demands from the Serbian coach to convince him to take the job, including a R 1 million bonus for promotion.
“We approached Heric after our match against Free State Stars, I found the supporters waiting for me outside after the match and they were demanding that we get a coach. The contract is ready there was just one clause that the coach requested that we change – the bonus clause which stipulates that he wants a million to take the team to the PSL and not the R 500 000 we offered him. The coach made it clear that he will take the team to the top, so we have agreed,” he said.
Mulaudzi also confirmed that Heric raised issues of interference in team selection and he has agreed to step back.
“We had to beg him to come help the team but he said to me, ‘Mr. President I have heard these things of intervention and interference it’s unprofessional’, so he said to me you and your ‘crew’ need to stop it. So, I think his message was laud and clear,” added Mulaudzi.
Since Heric’s arrival in South Africa 12 years ago, this will be his 12th team as head coach. He has coached Maritzburg United, Bay United, Black Leopards, African Warriors, Polokwane City, FC Cape Town, Chippa United, Royal Eagles, Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town All Stars and Ubuntu Cape Town.
Heric’s first match in charge will be the League match away to TS Galaxy on Monday, December 16.
