UJ walk away with 3 points against Golden Ladies in HBSL

The University of Johannesburg grabbed a last minute win against Golden Ladies in Sunday’s action of the Hollywoodbets Super League blazing Soweto heat to maintain their recent winning streak.

It was a typical smash and grab as they home side stole a match that was seemingly headed for a goalless draw.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Mafikeng’s Golden Ladies who had fought a brilliant battle for most of the afternoon but allowed the home side to sneak home a late goal and precious three points.

Goalkeeper Elizaebeth Mazivise walked away with the player of the match award after she thwarted most of the home side’s raid after raid.

Saturday, 25 September 2021 was a day filled with goals. Log leaders and champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continued their great run, walloping home side Thunderbirds Ladies 5-0 in a one-sided encounter in East London.

Ma-Indies beat Tsunami Queens 2-0 away from home while JVW were held to a goalless draw by TUT in Tshwane.

The match between Coal City Wizards and visitors Durban Ladies in Witbank also failed to produce any goals while Bloemfontein Celtics were held to a 1-1 draw by Richmond United.
