Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mario Booysen seem to have found a new home and is set to be announced as AmaZulu’s latest signing before the end of this week.
The 31-year-old is a free agent after being released by Chiefs at the beginning of the season and can still be registered to play in the current season, because he’s a free agent.
A source within the club confirmed to FARPost.co.za that the Cape Town-born centre back had agreed in principle to sign for the team and what is left is to put pen to paper.
“Yes, he has been training with us for a few days and he is expected to sign. There might be an announcement tomorrow (Tuesday). They are just finalising a few things, but I don’t see the deal failing,” said our informant.
Usuthu are currently 2nd from bottom on the Absa Premiership standings with five points from 8 matches, with just one win.
