Victor Osimhen made headlines when he made a move from French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille to Napoli in Italy in the current transfer window.
Osimhen rejuvenated his career at Belgian outfit Charleroi after a career scare two years before that when he failed at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and later health issues had him rejected by Club Brugge.
Osimhen hit the ground running at Charleroi before Lille came knocking on the door for him last season which is where he scored 18 goals and had 6 assists in all competitions – a tally that earned him his recent headline move to Italy.
Speaking to Radio Punto Nuovo his agent William D’Avila stated that the Nigerian does not feel under pressure at the club.
Osimhen announced his arrival in Napoli with an impressive hat-trick and assist as Napoli won 11-0 against L’Aquila in the Partenopei’s training camp at Castel di Sangro on Friday.
Already the Nigerian’s 70 million Euros price made him the club’s record signing, a status that comes with a lot of pressure to deliver the goals next season but his agent insists the player is not under pressure. In fact he is already at home.
“We are extremely happy with Victor’s performance, he called me and confessed that he was extremely happy for the first goals for the Azzurri. Does he feel the pressure now? No, why should he? He’s not experiencing any kind of pressure, he knows how to be a great striker his goal is to score a lot of goals, so no pressure,” he continued.
“His first impressions on Napoli and Gattuso? Perfect, everything – Victor already feels at home.”
The striker has scored 38 club career goals accompanied by 10 assists. He was given the 9 jersey with many in Italy hoping that he hits the ground running when the Serie A season starts.
