Villarreal have completed the signing of Boulaye Dia from Stade Reims.
The 24-year-old striker has signed a five-year deal which will keep him at the Estadio de la Ceramica until June 2026.
Villarreal are bolstering their squad ahead of the 2021/22 season where they will be eager to do well in La Liga as well as successfully defend their Uefa Europa League title.
“Villarreal CF have reached a transfer deal with Stade Reims for French-Senegalese striker Boulaye Dia, who will wear yellow for the next five seasons,” read a club statement.
“Boulaye Dia will already train with his new teammates on Wednesday under Unai Emery at the Sports City.
“At 24, Dia has been one of the sensations of the top French championship, showing himself as a powerful, fast and skilled striker with the ball at his feet.”
Boulaye played a total of 88 games for the Red and Whites and scored 28 goals in three seasons with the French club.
Last season was his most prolific season as he scored 14 goals in 36 league appearances for Reims who finished in 14th place on the log standings with 42 points in 38 games.
He becomes the second African player at the club with Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze already an integral part of Emery’s squad.
