Vodacom is the new sponsor of the Lesotho Premier League (LPL), replacing Econet.
The mobile communication company signed a three-year deal to the value of R8.5 million with the Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) to become the Premiership headline sponsor.
In a statement released on Thursday, Vodacom Lesotho said: “This agreement is timely as it comes when the football season is about to resume following the break occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
“We are determined to put a strong arm and beyond, in improvement and confidence in the footsteps of Lesotho.
“Vodacom has always had a powerful historic presence in the soccer fraternity and is now committed to further enhancing the development and improvement of football in Lesotho.”
The 2020/21 season of the Lesotho Premier League will start on Saturday afternoon, 12 December when Kick4Life take on Bantu FC at Setsoto Stadium.
