Wanderers player set to appeal jail sentence

Manzini Wanderers player Sandile Mhlanga is set to file an urgent application at the High Court to appeal his three-year jail sentence.

Mhlanga was sentenced a week ago at the Manzini Magistrate’s court for assault and grievous bodily harm.

The right-back has instructed lawyers from one of the law firms in Mbabane to move an urgent application at the High Court, where he is seeking the court to review his sentence.

Manzini Wanderers media officer Mlungisi Ndzinisa said he was yet to learn about the latest developments when reached by Swazi observer on Tuesday.

“I haven’t heard anything pertaining to the matter,” he said.

Mhlanga joined the maroon and white outfit at the beginning of the season from Milling Hotspurs. His last match was on April 10, ironically against his former club.
