On loan Simba SC defender Peter Muduhwa looks set to make his official debut for the Tanzanian club against DR Congo giants AS Vita in a CAF Champions League group stage tie on Saturday.
The Tanzania champions signed the Zimbabwe international on a six-month loan deal late last month.
Simba, who eliminated Zimbabwean champions FC Platinum in the second round after a 4-1 aggregate win, are in Group A alongside defending champions Al Ahly of Egypt, Sudanese giants El-Merreikh and AS Vita.
They roped in the Highlanders FC defender to strengthen their squad for the CAF Champions League campaign and he has traveled with the team to Kinshasa.
Muduhwa will, however, not be able to feature in Simba SC’s fight to retain the Vodacom Tanzania Mainland Premier League since the East African country’s transfer window closed two weeks before his arrival.
He believes his international experience will help him excel in the Champions League. “I’m not under pressure because I have represented Zimbabwe on numerous occasions. As such, this is not a different international assignment for me. I will just do my best,” Muduhwa told a Zimbabwe daily, The Chronicle.
Simba have indicated that should he impress in the African safari, they will open negotiations with Highlanders for a permanent deal.
