Bloemfontein Celtic coach John Maduka has confirmed the arrival of striker Tokelo Rantie.
FARPost broke the news a couple of days ago that the ex Mamelodi Sundowns striker is in Bloemfontein, looking to resurrect his career.
The 29-year-old forward had his contract with the Chloorkop-based outfit terminated earlier this year owing to ill discipline, having gone AWOL.
However, he is now ready to pick up the pieces and impress the team from the City of Roses.
“Yes, he’s in Bloemfontein. He arrived on Tuesday, but only trained with us on yesterday [Wednesday]. We’re
giving him a chance to see what he can do. We know Tokelo; he’s a great striker with an eye for goal. He’s done
well for himself and the teams he played for in the past,” Maduka said.
He added: “We haven’t decided whether or not he’ll sign him. There is so much to consider, but for now we want
to see what he can offer. He’s got a great experience under his belt, which is vital for our young team. They can
learn a lot from him. So we’ll see how it goes, but that’s all we can say for now.”
Celtic returns to league action this weekend when they host Baroka on Sunday at Dr. Molemela Stadium.
Kickoff is at 15:30.
