After finishing just four places and nine points above the relegation zone in the 2019/20 season, Chippa United striker Bienvenu Eva Nga is optimistic that his new side will “go far” this campaign in the DStv Premiership.
Eva Nga, who only found the back of the net four times in 18 appearances for the now-defunct Bidvest Wits last term is currently the joint-top scorer in the early stage of the league on three goals‚ with Baroka’s Richard Mbulu.
The Cameroonian striker scored the first hat-trick of the new season and became the second the Chilli Boy to hit a hat-trick in the topflight after Lerato Manzini Chippa hammered Maritzburg United 3-1 in a Premiership encounter on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old is convinced that Chippa will ruffle some feathers throughout the 2020/21 season. “It’s very good for us to build the confidence and it makes us believe in our work. As a striker I feel happy [to have scored a hat-trick],” said Eva Nga.

“We have shown other teams we are ready. I know we are going very far in this league‚ I believe with the work that my colleagues and my coach [Lehlohonolo Seema] are doing,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chippa head coach Seema is hoping that all his players will continue to contribute during the league, just as they have been doing in the opening three rounds.
Chippa have earned four points in three matches so far in the league. “We are building a team, we are building something here, is a young team,” said Seema.
“There is still a long way to go, we have a lot of work to do but I am happy with the contribution of everyone, from the technical team to the players. This team can play,” concluded Seema.
