Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer admits that luck was on their side during the 1-0 away win over Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Pirates secured the maximum points through an own goal by Leopards player Thabiso Mokoena in the 90th minute to register their 6th straight win of the season.
The Buccaneers also jump to second position above Mamelodi Sundowns and 6 points behind rivals Kaizer Chiefs who they meet in their next League match.
The German Mentor also hailed goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands man of the match performances.
“Thanks to God that we got the goal but last week we also got a goal in the last minute we had top performance but today we have the luck. We have Sandilands and we had luck,” Zinnbauer told reporters.
“It was a top performance by Sandilands but we had an opponent that was very strong in the first half. They made good counter attacks with top corners, top free kicks and it was not easy, the weather was very hot and it is not easy for our players,” he said.
Pirates are yet to lose a League match under Zinnbauer, winning 7 out of the 8 matches and scoring 16 goals.
