“I am happy, we have a very good team.”
Those were the first words Orlando Pirates Josef Zinnbauer uttered, when he walked in at the press conference room last night at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium after their 2-1 win over Chippa United.
“Thank you to the fans for their support! I think we have a lot of supporters here, but we have a very good team at the moment, the spirit is good,” said the German.
“We work well with the ball and also without the ball. We are good and this is very important in our game at the moment and for our success.”
The Buccaneers are now second on the Absa Premiership with 36 points from 20 matches, while their bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs occupy the top position and are now points clear from 19 matches.
Zinnbauer, however, is not entirely interested in their League position or so he says.
“Number 2? It’s for a moment. We know the other teams are not on the same number of games as us. They are a few games behind us, should they win then number 2 is done and settled.
“But for me it’s important that we play the next game (against Black Leopards) very well and we have the next chance and we get 3 points and that’s important for us. It’s a moment, it’s a picture, not more,” concluded the Buccaneers head coach.
