Black Leopards defender Edwin Gyimah says their 2-1 win over Stellenbosch was a big relief for a club struggling to collect points.
Before the match against Stellies at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday, Leopards had gone 7 matches without a win.
The Ghanaian who has become a fan favourite amongst the Lidoda Duvha supporters due to his never-say-die-attitude on the field says, “You know we wanted that win very badly for our supporters and for our families because we’ve been stressing a lot in terms of finding ways on how we can come out of that position.” said Gyimah.
“I think the win come with a big relief for the players and everybody who loves this team. As much as the game against Stellenbosch was important we need to build on it for the match against Wits on Thursday,” said the 28-year-old.
The win took Leopards to 20 points, 3 above bottom placed Polokwane City.
