Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey says they are having “more fun” in training with the newly appointed head coach Andrea Pirlo in charge.
Pirlo’s new-look Juventus started their Serie A title defence on Sunday with a 3-0 win over Sampdoria but Ramsey believes there’s plenty of room for improvement as they prepare for their first major test this campaign on Sunday when they face AS Roma.
“When we train we have fun. The work is hard but gives us great satisfaction. I think we have more fun than last year,” said Ramsey.
“We started well and with the new coach, and the new staff, new ideas have also arrived.”
The Italian football giants are chasing their 10th consecutive league title this term, but Ramsey highlighted that Napoli, Inter Milan and AC Milan are serious contenders.
“We still need to improve. In this team there are many great players, we call all play and help the team reach their goals. I’m happy to be able to play together with these top-quality attackers,” added Ramsey.
“Inter are a great team, they have signed a lot of players. Like Napoli, who are very strong. Milan finished well last season and started the same way. Serie A is a very tough League,” concluded the Welsh midfielder.
