We have to protect Brooks – TS Galaxy coach

Ethan Brooks has emerged as one of TS Galaxy’s newest stars and has caught the eye with a number of breathtaking performances for the club and Bafana Bafana.
TS Galaxy head coach Owen Da Gama lavished praise for the tireless midfielder for his display against Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership clash on Sunday in Mbombela.
Brooks, who has drawn comparisons to Bafana legend Steven Pienaar only played for 69 minutes and Da Gama said the player’s substituting was a ‘tactical change’.
“Ethan did an exceptional job for us against Chiefs. We played him as a false winger and as a midfielder and he put in a lot of mileage and did a great job for us,” said Da Gama.
The 20-year-old was one of the standout performances in the Cosafa Cup, playing in Bafana a key role in the Bafana side to clinch the title against Senegal in the final in Gqeberha last month.

“So it was basically a tactical change and he got two knocks and as you know he started the season with us with a knock, so we were a bit cautious.

“He is still a young boy and we have to protect him as well as much as possible. We are happy with his contribution,” concluded the Galaxy mentor.
