SuperSport United captain Ronwen Williams is confident that his team can overcome Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby on Wednesday afternoon at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Williams, who recently returned from an ACL grade two tear sustained against Cape Town City last month said they are eager to delay Sundowns’ inevitable title celebrations.
Williams has kept seven clean sheets in 23 matches and will be hoping to improve on that tally before season end.
“I’m just happy to be back. Being out for few weeks gave me time to miss the game again and bring back that spark. I missed the game and hopefully, you know I can push my team to finish strong in the three remaining games,” said Williams.
“Coming to Sundowns it’s always a nice game against them and we enjoy playing against our rivals you know and it’s always a game of entertainment. So, we are looking forward to it.
“They will want to wrap up the league. But we don’t want to allow that, not against us. We’ve got our own ambitions, where we want to end, so we know what to do and how to beat them.
“We’ve done it before and it is going to be a good one and the guys are looking forward to it,” concluded the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.
