Sadio Mane has urged Liverpool to show some fighting spirit in order to finish the 2020/21 season well.
The Reds broke many records on their way to clinching their first Premier League title in 30 years and Mane was one of the players who played an instrumental role.
He scored 18 goals in 35 games last season for the defending champions.
Mane’s form has dropped this season, as he only has seven goals in the 26 games he has played so far.
Speaking to SkySports.com, the 28-year-old said it’s important for the team to keep believing in themselves and pushing for good results.
“We have to deal with the situation and not stop believing, but keep fighting, keep our motivation and go again.
“When you are a fighter you never try to make excuses, we are here to find solutions. Being together with my team-mates always gives me high energy. In football and in life in general you can’t expect anything and for years and years this complicated situation has not happened.
“We have always been successful, but now this has happened and we can see it is like how life is. We need to be positive and fight. This is what we try to do to change this situation and I’m sure that it will change.”
Liverpool face Arsenal in the Premier League on the 3rd of April after the international break. They later travel to Spain to face Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League quarter-final.
Mane scored twice in the last 16 tie against German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig to ensure the Reds progress to the next round of the continental competition. Old rivalries will be renewed next week Tuesday in Madrid with both teams aiming to get off to a good start in the first leg.
