Black Leopards head coach Dylan Kerr insists the players need to do some self-introspection following three disappointing DStv premiership results.
Lidoda Duvha were edged 2-1 by Swallows at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.
It was a third time in a row that the club surrendered a first half lead, after a similar fate against Kaizer Chiefs and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
“I think we need to reflect on the fact that we are not as good as we were told,” says Kerr.
“I was told we got a good squad of players. It’s worked to a point where we are now taking the game to the opponents to score goals. The players are going to go on a holiday, this PSL break is absolutely ridiculous, and it must never be allowed. I don’t know any country in the world where they have a break for Christmas. We got to trust them (players) when they go home and when they come back.
“It’s not where we want to be (log position) come Christmas. It is going to be very tough, I got the right players, I got the right mentality in the squad but it’s tough to put a finger on it because when I see what we do every day, when I see the energy and the enthusiasm of what we do at training on the field it’s not playable,” he added.
Leopards travel to Durban for a clash against unbeaten Golden Arrows after the holidays on January 5. Three days later, they travel to Cape Town for an encounter against Stellenbosch.
