Today marks seven years since the death of former Bafana Bafana midfielder Thomas Madigage.
Madigage died in a car crash after hitting a donkey crossing a road near Burgersfort when he was 42 years old in 2012.
He started his career in 1983 with Arcadia Shepherds before joining Jomo Cosmos in 1987.
Madigage’s former coach Jomo Sono feels Madigage’s legacy lives on despite the fact that he is not celebrated.
“You know in South Africa when you are dead you are dead,” Sono lamented.
“You are never celebrated so we know what he has done. His legacy leaves on whether he is celebrated or not. People will always talk about Thomas.”
Madigage played for Arcadia Shepherds, Jomo Cosmos, FC Zürich, Jomo Cosmos before he retired at SuperSport United in 2003.
