Maritzburg United winger Tebogo Tlolane insists that they are going to have to work their socks off ahead of the DStv Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday at FNB Stadium.
The match is scheduled for 17:00 in the afternoon.
The Blue Army come into this game with confidence following their 2-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic last weekend.
“Obviously it was delightful to get the first win,” Tlolane told Maritzburg’s official website.
“But the coach has made it clear that we are not out of danger, so we quickly forgot about the victory.
“When it happened you could see the joy on everybody’s faces. But immediately when we got back to training the coach made us aware that we should forget about the victory and look forward to the Kaizer Chiefs game.”
The 26-year-old admits morale has been boosted by their last encounter’s win and the spirit is high at the camp amongst the players.
“This first win gives us confidence. Now it is all about taking that confidence and going game by game, step by step to get the necessary three points to get ourselves out of danger.”
Tlolane has warned the Glamour Boys not to underestimate them, having started off the season on the wrong foot.
“We should never be mistaken – we know that they are not doing well in the league, as their position says. But they are still a big team, it’s still Kaizer Chiefs. On their day, they have very good players, so we shouldn’t take it lightly. We are going to have to work our socks off to get a victory, especially playing away,” he elaborates.
The Team of Choice will be seeking revenge as they lost 2-1 against Amakhosi at the beginning of the season in the MTN8 quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, the Soweto giants will be hoping to continue where they left off when they crushed the KZN-based outfit in the MTN8 competition and put themselves in a better position in the top-flight.
