Baroka FC take on Black Leopards for the third fixture this season but this time around in the last 8 of the Nedbank Cup at Peter Mokaba Stadium this afternoon (15:00).
Bakgaga have had the upper hand over their Limpopo neighbours this season winning both the home and away League fixtures, including the 2-0 victory last Saturday.
The two teams met in the 2011 Nedbank Cup semi-finals with Leopards winning 3-1 on penalties to reach the final.
But Baroka defender Denwin Farmer says they are aiming for a 3rd win in a row.
“It’s a really a tough one we have beaten them twice in the League and we want a 3rd win to progress to the semi-final but it won’t be easy because Leopards wouldn’t allow us to get to a 3rd win in a row they will come with guns blazing and all of that,” said Farmer who has won the Nedbank Cup with SuperSport United.
“For me it’s not about confidence now in the Cup game because it’s a knockout and it’s going to be an all different ball game because it’s about results. It’s not about the type of football you play but just scoring a goal, defending and keeping a clean sheet,” he said.
The two teams have met on 13 previous occasions, with Leopards leading the head-to-head 5-3, and a further five draws.
