SA stars will once again be in the spotlight when they represent their respective teams across Europe this weekend. FARPost‘s Prince Sobayeni previews the weekend clashes.

PACOS FERREIRA vs SPORTING LISBON

26 September 2020

19:30 PM, SA Time

On his debut for Ferreira against Portimonense Luther Singh was probably the best player on the pitch for Ferreira. What is certain is that the 23-year-old has been given the freedom to play according to his strengths and given the responsibility to take set pieces more often. A good season is important for Singh who will want to impress his parent club to recall him back or even attract interest from other clubs.

SOUTHAMPTON U23 vs WEST HAM U23

26 September 2020

17:30 PM, SA Time

It’s match day three in the English Premier League 2 and midfielder Kgaogelo Chauke has played one game coming off the bench to score against Arsenal on match day one and the 17-year-old will want to regain his spot in the starting line up. The home game against West Ham United will be a perfect opportunity for the midfielder to prove himself.

MONTPELLIER vs DIJON

27 September 2020

15:00 PM, SA Time

Former French champions Montpellier will be looking to continue where they left off last weekend when they beat Angers 4-1 at home. Winger Keagan Dolly hasn’t had a start so far this season and an away game at Dijon might be a perfect chance for the South African to prove himself in the team. Dolly has featured as a substitute in two of Montpelier’s 4 Ligue 1 games so far.

ANDERLECHT vs KAS EUPEN

27 September 2020

16:00 PM, SA Time

Bafana striker Percy Tau has now staked his claim in the starting XI of Anderlecht and this weekend another good performance at Eupen will further strengthen his position in the team while also helping Anderlecht move up the table closer to the top 3. Tau has played four games scoring two goals so far this season.

VITORIA GUIMARAES vs RIO AVE

27 September 2020

22:00 PM, SA Time

20-year-old striker Lyle Foster has had a full season in Europe when he was at Belgian side Cercle Brugge and the South African youth international wants to hit the ground running with Guimaraes who seem to be entrusting him with the responsibility of leading their attack. With players like veteran Ricardo Queresma by his side it’s only a matter of time before the striker starts scoring goals.

DJURGADEN DFF vs VITTSJO

27 September 2020

15:00 PM, SA Time

Midfielder Linda Motlhalo has bossed the Swedish Damallsvenskan since joining the former Swedish champions from BG Phoenix earlier this year.

Djurgaden hasn’t had the best of seasons and are currently placed 8th on the table which is an unfamiliar position for the giants. A win on Sunday will help the club climb up the table as the league nears its conclusion.

KALMAR vs VARBERGS

28 September 2020

15:00 PM, SA Time

After a disappointing 3-1 loss at home against Helsingborg Swedish top tier side Varbergs BoIS will be looking to get back to winning ways.

SA trio Luke Le Roux, Keanin Ayer and Tashreeq Matthews will be looking to help the new boys climb further up the table to avoid going down to the relegation zone.
