This is a crucial weekend with most leagues around the world crowning champions and some teams fighting to avoid relegation.

South Africa’s overseas-based players will be eager to make some positive contributions in their respective clubs across Europe.

HELSINGOR vs VIBORG

FRIDAY, MAY 7

19:00 PM (SA TIME)

Liam Jordan has become a key figure in a rejuvenated Helsingor side. The Danish 1st Division side has been unplayable in recent weeks winning three of their previous four league games.

Jordan netted a beautiful goal last weekend as they defeated Viborg 3-0. The two sides will square off again on Friday evening in the second leg of the promotion play-off.

EA GUINGAMP vs CHATEAUROUX

SATURDAY, MAY 8

20:00 PM (SA TIME)

Guingamp have turned things around in recent weeks and a win on Saturday will guarantee the club’s status in Ligue 2 next season.

Lebogang Phiri has been a key figure behind the change of fortunes at the French outfit. Since the return of the Bafana Bafana international, Guingamp have managed to get three wins and two draws in six games.

PACOS FERREIRA vs MARITIMO

SUNDAY, MAY 9

16:00 PM (SA TIME)

After drawing 1-1 against SC Braga on Wednesday, Ferreira put themselves in a good position to qualify for next season’s Uefa Europa League.

Luther Singh was forced to miss the mid-week clash due to a clause on his contract that prevents him from featuring against his parent club, but the winger will be back on Sunday when they host Maritimo.

MALMO vs VARBERGS BOIS

SUNDAY, MAY 9

17:30 PM (SA TIME)

Last weekend, Varbergs got their first win of the season in the Swedish Allsvenskan and Ryan Moon scored his first goal since joining the club.

They have a difficult trip to Malmo on Sunday and all five South Africans at the club will be eager to get involved.

BAYERN MUNICH II vs UNTERHACHING

SUNDAY, MAY 9

14:00 PM (SA TIME)

Unterhaching are in a race against time to avoid relegation to Germany’s fourth division and South African teenager Boipelo Mashigo recently returned to the club’s starting line-up after being sidelined by an ankle injury.

The 18-year-old will be eager to help the club avoid the drop and get the needed points in the remaining games. Their first task will be against Bayern Munich’s reserve team on Sunday.
