Weekend preview: Mzansi footballers abroad

The 2020/21 season continues this weekend with some of Mzansi’s footballers in action for their respective clubs abroad.

PACOS FERREIRA vs SC BRAGA, SATURDAY 16 JANUARY 2021,
17:30 PM (SA TIME)

Luther Singh has done well since arriving at Ferreira and on Saturday, the winger will have an opportunity to prove his quality against his parent club Braga in the league. Ferreira have been on a good run of form having won both of the previous two games which has propelled them to 5th spot on the log standings.

LEEDS UNITED vs BRIGHTON& HOVE ALBION, SATURDAY 16 JANUARY 2021, 17:00 PM (SA TIME)

Percy Tau has been making headlines since his long-awaited return to his parent club Brighton and the forward had an impressive debut on Wednesday evening against Manchester City. On Saturday, Graham Potter’s charges have a tricky away battle against Leeds United at Elland Road. Tau will be looking to make another start for the Seagulls.

ACADEMICA vs BENFICA B, SATURDAY 16 JANUARY 2021, 18:00 PM (SA TIME)

Mihlali Mayambela has been cleared to make his debut for Academica after completing a loan move to the club from SC Farense. The 24-year-old winger will be looking to hit the ground running for his new club as he hopes to play a part in their push for promotion to the top tier next season.

MOTHERWELL vs GLASGOW RANGERS, SUNDAY 17 JANUARY 2021, 14:00 PM (SA TIME)

Bongani Zungu is still in search for his first league start in the colours of Glasgow Rangers. Although he has made nine league appearances off the bench, the 28-year-old has struggled to break into the starting line-up for the club.
With Rangers comfortably sitting at the top of the log standings, the away trip to Motherwell might be a perfect opportunity for the former Vitoria Guimaraes man to be given the nod.

AGUEDA vs VILA CORTEZ, SUNDAY 17 JANUARY 2021, 17:00 PM (SA TIME)

KZN academy graduate Sibusiso Shibane will be looking to add more goals to his tally this season. The 21-year-old has scored four goals so far this campaign in the Portuguese third tier as he continues to impress with Agueda.
