West Ham United have confirmed that David Moyes has returned to the club as first team manager.
The 55-year-old replaces Manuel Pallegrini, who was sacked after Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City.
“I feel like I have got unfinished business,” said Moyes, who led the Hammers to Premier League safety in a seven months spell a couple of years ago.
The Scot has managed in the Premier League for 15 seasons including a successful spell at Everton which earned him a move to Manchester United.
He has now signed an 18-month deal and began work immediately ahead of the New Year Day fixture with AFC Bournemouth at the London Stadium.
The Hammers are just one point above the relegation zone.
