Where we end up is where we end up – Tinkler

With Maritzburg United’s 7-match unbeaten ended by Baroka on Sunday at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Eric Tinkler was rather left frustrated by the “average” performance by his men.

“When you play average, you are going to get punished and that was the case…and truth be told if you want to achieve things in this game you can’t be average,” said Tinkler.

Maritzburg are 6th on the Absa Premiership log standings with 26 points after 19 games.

Tinkler said he doesn’t really think about their position on the log and the number of games left in the league.

It is back to the drawing for Tinkler and ‘The Team of Choice’ after suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands Baroka. They now shift their focus to their Friday night clash against Cape Town City. Picture courtesy of Maritzburg United.

“I don’t even think of that (number of games remaining) to be brutally honest, I think about the next game and collecting the 3 points and where we end up is where we end up,” concluded the former Orlando Pirates mentor.
