Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has explained why winger Joseph ‘Tight’ Molangoane is not getting game time at the moment.
Molangoane played just two official matches last season after being out with a long-term leg injury.
The 31-year-old’s situation remains the same this season too and he’s yet to play a single minute.
Middendorp has provided answers to the multitude of Chiefs supporters, who have been asking about Molangoane.
“It’s really, you know whatever it comes; I would love to see him on the field. I’d love to really give him (a chance to play),” Middendorp told the media.
“I’ve said it before that I was very influential in terms of signing him for the extension in June,” continued the German.
“But we have to be very clear structured – there are too many irritations in terms of his second broken incident (in reference to another injury).
“Basically, in the moment a very clear message is that currently he is not prepared to play a competitive game.
“We work on it; he is working on it individually, there’s no doubt about it, but let’s be honest. I like this player (and) I would like to have him in but if it’s not working – if it’s not going into a way that he be competitive , then we can’t use him,” Middendorp added.
