Will the Scudetto finally lands in Milan?

The Italian football championship is rated amongst the top four leagues in Europe, together with English Premiership, Bundesliga and La Liga.

Their championship also called the Scudetto has been dominated by the Turin-based giants, Juventus who have annexed the last four titles in a row.

However, this season has seen the re-emergence of once super-houses, Inter Milan (Internazionale) and AC Milan. These Milan-based outfits ended the winter (first round) championship seated at number one and two respectively, capitulating the FARPost Technical Study (TSG) to ask, can the Scudetto finally finds its way to the city of Milan?

1. AC Milan credentials

The once great club that spearheaded the careers of Paolo Maldini, Carlo Ancelotti, Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard and Marco van Basten to name a few, have been sensational this season.

In the Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the talented young Brazilian winger Rafael Leao, Milan have found the right goal scoring drivers to an eventual league title push.

Ibrahimovic has returned to the scoring chart with a brace at Calgiari, and although they lost brutally (0-3) at home to Atalanta, they still perched at the top of the league.

2. Milan winter champions

Milan has negotiated a near perfect campaign this term, with overall 46 points after 20 matches. They have amassed 14 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses.

Having scored 41 goals and conceded 23, have propelled them to the top with a goal difference of +18.

3. Inter Milan credentials

Inter Milan under Antonio Conte has been crafting a good season steadily. Renowned for tinkering his tactical attacking style between a 1-3-5-2 and a flexible 1-4-3-3 systems, Conte has managed to imprint his philosophy in this Inter side.

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have continued their fine form in attack. But it’s the other experienced campaigners like the Chilean pair, Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez who have come in handy. Vidal scored his first goal this season in an emphatic win against his former employers, Juventus, to announce his and Inter’s credentials this time around.

4. Inter Milan lurking

In a season that has seen the likely contenders, Lazio, Napoli and Juventus struggle for consistency, Inter has stayed solidly with AC Milan.

Inter are the top scoring team in the league with 49 goals and have conceded 23. Their league record includes 13 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses in a tight race at the summit of the log. With 2 points separating them from their arch-rivals Milan, it is safe to say Inter are lurking perfectly.

5. Scudetto to Milan?

Milan have added the experienced Mario Mandzukic to their attacking machinery, whilst Inter have the experienced Vidal and Sanchez blooming at the right time, it certainly looks like the Scudetto will finally head straight to Milan come the end of the season.
