Yagan Sasman arrived at Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season as a free agent and the 23-year-old left-back has ambitions of leaving a long-lasting legacy at Naturena.
Sasman was released by GladAfrica log leaders Ajax Cape Town last season after spending five years with the ‘Urban Warriors’ and the defender has gone on to make a good impression at Chiefs, making 14 appearances in all competitions this season.
“Being at Chiefs has been an honour. I hope to build a legacy and follow in former legends’ footsteps,” said the full-back.
The Ajax youth academy product is pleased with the way Chiefs fans have welcomed him, as well as his overall adaptation to the Soweto giants, who are in pole position to lift the Absa Premiership title this season but they will have to wait a little bit longer as PSL matches have been suspended indefinitely due to the novel coronavirus.
In his first interview since joining Chiefs on a three-year-old in August, Sasman said: “It’s been a wonderful experience for myself, I’ve been getting opportunities from coach Ernst and he’s been impressed with my hard work, and I deserve a place here in the Kaizer Chiefs setup.”
