SA rising midfielder Sphephelo ‘Yaya’ Sithole is getting closer and closer to his senior debut for Portuguese top flight club Belenenses after making the senior team’s bench 3 times in the league and once in the Taca De Portugal.
FARPost.co.za took time out to catch up with the KZN academy product to find out how his transition has been so far.
Sithole made the bench against giants FC Porto last Sunday evening and the midfielder couldn’t hold his excitement about being part of that game although he didn’t play saying, “the atmosphere was absolutely out of this world on Sunday I might have not played but to be part of that was a dream come through for me it was absolute amazing and out of this world because Porto is a big club and I’m still young so there will be plenty more opportunities to be part of the spectacle.”
Sithole has been very consistent for Belenenses U23s this season hence the senior team coach keeps bringing him up to give him an opportunity and the midfielder is eagerly waiting for that day.
“Yes yes it’s definitely coming I think with each match day I’m on the bench anything is possible I can come on to play at any time so I’m going to keep the consistency going forward because my chance is definitely coming I must be ready .”
FARPost.co.za always brings you closer to the players who ply their trade overseas including ‘Yaya’ so certainly we will be there when his dream of playing in the top flight for the first time comes through .
