Zamalek president Mortada Mansour said that coach Patrice Carteron is willing to extend his stay with the club.

Under the French coach, the Egyptian giants have won two trophies so far this season after beating Esperance 3-1 in last month’s CAF Super Cup before defeating rivals Al Ahly on penalties to clinch the Egypt Super Cup title.

The Cairo based side appointed Carteron as their coach in December after they decided to part ways with Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic and with the French coach at the helm, Zamalek have won 12 games, drew six and lost only two in 20 games.

“Zamalek are open to renewing Carteron’s contract with the club and continue with him as manager and the same could be said for Carteron,” said Mortada, according to Kingfut.com.

“Carteron informed us that he renews his contract at the end of each season and only signs a one-year contract, which is normal for club managers,” added the Zamalek President.

Zamalek currently occupy fourth place in the Egyptian Premier League this season with 31 points after 16 games played.

However, the League has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
