Football fans in Zambia have finally received the good news following the announcement by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to open the gates for domestic competitions.
This follows the lifting Covid-19 restrictions by the Ministry of Health, arising from reduced incidences in the country.
FAZ confirmed the development in a statement.
“Following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions by the Ministry of Health, arising from reduced Covid-19 incidences, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform its members and all stakeholders that spectators will be allowed to return to stadia albeit in observance of the five golden rules.
“FAZ has sought guidance from the Ministry of Health and the superintending ministry of sports to ensure that the return of spectators is within the specified Covid-19 guidelines.”
FAZ has also clarified that the number of fans for the 10 October, 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier remains 20 000 as guided by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
