The Chipolopolo locally-based players gave up a 3-1 lead to play to a 3-3 with Niger in their opening match of the ongoing Pre-CHAN tournament in Cameroon.
Zambia took the lead just after five minutes via midfielder Collins Sikombe but the lead was short-lived as Ibrahim Essa leveled matters ten minutes later.
Zambia was however back in the lead in the 36th minute thanks to Moses Phiri who made sure the Zambia CHAN squad went into the break with a 2-1 lead.
Sikombe doubled Zambia’s lead fourteen minutes into the second half and with Zambia heading for a comfortable 3-1 win Niger hit back through Essa to complete his brace in the 75th minute and Moussa Issa in the 87th minute to make sure the two teams share the spoils, 3-3 the match ended.
In the opening match of the tournament, Cameroon and Angola also played to a 1-1 draw on Friday.
