Zambian Super League season gets underway


Week one of the MTN Zambia Super League officially kick started this past weekend.

Three fixtures were postponed as other clubs had commitments in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup matches.

The affected fixtures were Kansanshi Dynamos v Zanaco, Indeni v Kabwe Warriors and Zesco United v Red Arrows.

On Saturday, newly promoted sides Kafue Celtic and Chambishi played to a 0-0 draw at Independence Stadium. Green Buffaloes and Lusaka Dynamos played to a 1-1 draw at Woodlands Stadium.

Prison Leopards and Forest Rangers also played to a 1-1 draw. Konkola Blades marked their return to the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Power Dynamos at Konkola Stadium.

Nkana lost 3-2 to Nkwazi while Buildcon beat Green Eagles 2-1 at Independence Stadium.

League action will resume on Saturday, 18 September.
