Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has praised Vincent Pule for his newfound sharpness in front of goal after the winger netted twice in Saturday’s entertaining 2-2 draw against Cape Town City at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch
Pule, who was making his return to action in the DStv Premiership after missing last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Baroka, has now scored three goals in eight matches in all competitions.
“Pule, you saw he scored. Last week he was not in the team and he had a very good performance,” said Zinnbauer.
The Bafana Bafana international’s resurgence in form comes at a crucial time for Pirates as they take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the MTN8 final on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
“As a winger or as a striker you need goals, and he had a very good game. He’s always defending and attacking and fighting for the squad and for himself, and that is what we need,” added the German mentor.
Zinnbauer went on to defend his new group of recruits, insisting that they need more time. “The new players played well but we need a little bit of luck. There is no magic here as we have to work, and they also need more time to settle into the set-up,” he said
“We do not have luck and if you don’t score, you will not win the game. Hopefully, we will get it right next week (in the final),” concluded Zinnbauer.
