Ziyech strike sends Chelsea to FA cup final

A number of African stars were in action for their respective clubs overseas.

Kelechi Iheanacho helped Leicester City reach the FA Cup final while Hakim Ziyech was the hero for Chelsea in their 1-0 triumph against Manchester City.

PEPE, THOMAS, MAJA, LEMINA& AINA

Arsenal came back from a goal down to salvage a point after a 1-1 draw against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

Josh Maja converted a first half penalty for Fulham before Eddie Nketiah equalised late for the Gunners.

Junior Lemina and Ola Aina lasted the entire 90 minutes for the visitors while Nicolas Pepe and Thomas Partey were both introduced in the second half of the game for Arsenal.

ALEX IWOBI & SERGE AURIER

Both stars started as Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 against Everton in the English Premier League.

Iwobi lasted 61 minutes while Aurier played the entire game in the wingback position for Tottenham.

SAID BENRAHMA

Benrahma was introduced in the 75th minute of the game, but he couldn’t help West Ham United avoid a 3-2 defeat away at Newcastle United.

MOUSSA DJENEPO, KELECHI IHEANACHO & WILFRIED NDIDI

Leicester City defeated Southampton 1-0 in the English FA Cup on Sunday.

Iheanacho played the whole game and scored the only goal of the game while his compatriot Ndidi also lasted the whole game for the Foxes.

Djenepho started and got substituted in the second half for the Saints.

HAKIM ZIYECH

The Moroccan star netted the only goal of the game as Chelsea defeated Manchester City 1-0 at Wembley Stadium to reach the final of the FA Cup.

SAMUEL CHUKWUEZE

The Nigerian winger scored a brace to help Villarreal defeat Levante 5-1 in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday.

ALLAN NYOM & DJENE

Both stars started and played the whole game as Getafe held Real Madrid to a 0-0 draw on Sunday.

SADIQ UMAR 

The striker was on target as Almeria drew 1-1 against Espanyol in Spain’s second tier.

KALIDOU KOULIBALY & VICTOR OSIMHEN

Koulibaly played the entire 90 minutes while Osimhen got substituted in the second half in Napoli’s 1-1 draw against Inter Milan.

EMMANUEL GYASI

Gyasi started and got substituted in the second half as Spezia got thumped 4-1 by Bologna in the league on Sunday.

FRANCK KESSIE

The Ivorian played the whole 90 minutes for AC Milan as they defeated Genoa 2-1 in the league.

SIMY NWANKWO

Nwankwo scored a consolation goal for Crotone who lost 2-1 against Udinese on Saturday.

KEITA BALDE

Balde was introduced in the second half of the game as Sampdoria defeated Verona 3-1.

CHRISTIAN KOUAME

Kouame was introduced in the second half, but couldn’t help Fiorentina avoid a 3-2 loss against Sassuolo.

DENNIS BONAVENTURE

The striker played the whole game for FC Koln, but couldn’t help them avoid a 3-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

RAMY BENSEBAINI

Bensebaini scored the third goal in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 4-0 win against Eintrancht Frankfurt in the league on Saturday.

AMINE HARIT

Harit started and played 86 minutes for Schalke as they lost 4-0 against Freiburg.

AMADOU HAIDARA

Haidara was introduced in the second half as RB Leipzig drew 0-0 with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

EKAMBI, SLIMANI, CORNET & SIMON

All four players started as Olympique Lyon defeated FC Nantes 2-1 in Ligue 1.

GAEL KAKUTA

The attacking midfielder lasted 83 minutes and scored for RC Lens as they drew 1-1 with Stade Brest.

ANDY DELORT

Delort was on target yet again for Montpellier as they held log-leaders LOSC Lille to a 1-1 draw away from home.

FARID BOULAYA & MARSHALL MUNETSI

Both stars played the entire 90 minutes as FC Metz drew 0-0 against Stade Reims.
