Bizana Pondo Chiefs have confirmed the capture of skillful winger Masibusane Zongo.
The left-footed star was signed as a free agent after leaving Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila last season.
Speaking to FARPost, Pondo Chiefs communications officer Siya Quzu said the player has been signed until the end of the season. “Yes we have signed Zongo and his contract will run until the end of the season and if the technical team is happy with his contribution we will sit down and negotiate an extension”, said Quzu.
The Eastern Cape side will be hoping Zongo hits the ground running as he has spent some time training with the team. “He has been with us for more than 2 months and the technical team has been assessing him, so yes he has signed and he is ready to play depending on the technical team,” concluded Quzu.
Pondo Chiefs are 15th position in the GladAfrica Championship and Zongo will add to Julius Dube’s attacking players as they look to climb up the log.
The 30-year-old is one of the most traveled players having featured for Supersport United, Chippa United, Bidvest Wits, Vasco Da Gama (now Stellenbosch FC) and Bush Bucks, amongst others.
