There’s some good news for Bafana Bafana ahead of this afternoon’s encounter against Sudan at Orlando Stadium.
Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu will be available for selection after a full training session on Saturday.
Zungu was a doubt for the match having been substituted in the first half of their 2-0 defeat to Ghana.
Bafana are participating in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to Safa.net, Zungu managed to start and complete Bafana’s final training session at Orlando Stadium in Soweto without feeling any pain.
He had gone for a scan on his knee earlier on Saturday.
Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki, meanwhile, want his players to forget about the result in Ghana and focus on the clash against the Falcons of Jediane.
“I have told the players that the game against Ghana is behind us, there is nothing we can do about it. Yes, we are not happy with the loss, but we can’t change the result, so we have to focus on what is ahead of us – and this time it is Sudan,” said Ntseki.
“We are playing in front of our fans, we lost three points in Ghana, and now we must come out firing on all cylinders against Sudan.”
This will be the third meeting between the two sides and Bafana have won all two previous encounters with scorelines of 3-0 away and 2-1 at home.
Kick off is at 15h00.
