Zungu gets first Scottish Premiership start

It was a good weekend for South African footballers across Europe with the majority getting positive results.

BONGANI ZUNGU

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder received his first start for Glasgow Rangers as they drew 1-1 with Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership.

LUTHER SINGH

Singh continued his good start to 2021 with another great performance for Pacos Ferreira. The winger lasted 60 minutes and laid an assist for the first game as Ferreira beat Tondela 2-1 to stay in the top five of the Primeira Liga.

KOBAMELO KODISANG

Kodisang played 90 minutes for SC Braga B as they thrashed Vianense 6-1 in the Portuguese Campeonato on Sunday.

GIFT LINKS

Links started and got substituted in additional time for AGF Aarhus as they won 1-0 against Lyngby in the Danish Superliga on Sunday evening.

ETHAN CHISLETT

The midfielder started and played the entire 90 minutes for AFC Wimbledon as they got a hard earned 3-2 victory against Wigan Athletic in League One.

SIYANDA XULU

Xulu has established himself as a regular in a Hapoel Tel Aviv shirt. The former Maritzburg United captain played the entire game as Tel Aviv drew 1-1 with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

REFILOE JANE

Jane was named the Women of the Match after yet another stellar performance for AC Milan in Serie A.

She played 81 minutes and laid an assist for the first goal as the Rossoneri won 4-1 against San Marino.

THEMBI KGATLANA & NOKO MATLOU

Both South Africans played 90 minutes with Kgatlana scoring the only goal for Eibar who lost 3-1 against Sevilla.

SIYABONGA LIGENDZA

Ligendza hit double digits in style for Cardiff City U18.

He netted a brace as they defeated Queens Park Rangers 5-1 in the league.

DARREN SMITH

It wasn’t a happy debut for Smith in Finland as FC Honka lost 2-0 against Inter Turku.

The striker started and lasted 80 minutes for FC Honka.

MAX MCMILLAN

McMillan played the entire 90 minutes, but couldn’t help Leeds United avoid a 2-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers.

THULANI SERERO

Serero lasted 80 minutes for Al Jazira in their 5-1 thrashing of Al Dhafra in the Arabian Gulf League.

MATTHEWS, AYER & LE ROUX

The trio continued their preparations for the resumption of the Swedish Allsvenskan with a 2-1 victory against Falkenbergs.

Keanin Ayer was on target for Varbergs who are going towards their second season in the top-flight.
